Thai-related forums

For anyone interested in discussing Thai-related matters there is a multitude of internet forums available catering for almost any interest. A significant proportion of these are adult-related and these will not be discussed here. Some of the forums listed here do, however, contain some adult sections or material, but mainly they focus on other areas or interests.

General Thai forums:

There are a few international forums whose main appeal is to people with a general interest in Thailand:

 

 

Thailandqa   

This forum caters for people who have fallen in love with the country and want to learn more about its life and culture.

 

 

Thai/farang forum   

This is a relatively new forum that caters for people in Thai-Farang relationships.

Forums designed for the

expatriate community in Thailand:

ThaiVisa 

Without a doubt the largest Thai-related forum on the net. It covers most aspects of living in Thailand.

 

TeakDoor 

A smaller forum trying to tap into the same market as ThaiVisa. Less censored than ThaiVisa.

 

Ajarn 

A forum catering for the group of Farangs who teach English for a living.

 

OrientExpat

A forum for expats covering the whole of Asia but with a main focus on Thailand. Also good focus on relationship issues.

Regional Thai forums:

 

Hua Hin After Dark - Despite its name its main focus is not on adult-related matters

 

Phuket-info  - This forum is rather more adult-oriented than others, but still offers mainly local information and discussion for expats. 

 

Koratfarang  - fairly new

A very informative forum with a main focus on giving advice to people on how to obtain entry visas for their partners. Strictly and effectively moderated.

A very good Norwegian forum with much quality discussion.

 

Thaiforum

A smaller more tourist-oriented forum

Denmark

 Dansk-Thai 

Very similar to the Norwegian forum but with a less active membership.

Sweden

Soi Sixten 

This is the main Swedish forum, but it is more adult-oriented than its two Scandinavian cousins.

I have not been able to find any US specific forums dealing solely with Thai matters. Maybe most people from the US see ThaiVisa as a sufficient outlet for discussing any issues of concern to them? If any readers know of any US-Thai forums please send me a mail.
